Das Londoner Künstlerkollektiv The Centre of Attention plant, die Ruine der Sutton Scarsdale Hall in Derbyshire als "Pavilion of postcontemporary curating" zu nutzen.
Um die Ruine zu erhalten, wird die bestehende Struktur mit künstlichem, glasfaserverstärkten Bernsteinharz ausgegossen. Die benötigten Räume werden anschliessend, den tatsächlichen Bedürfnissen und Anforderungen entsprechend, aus dem vollen Material gehöhlt. Das kostspielige Verfahren und der langsame Fortschritt der archetypischen Raumproduktion legt den Fokus des Pavillons auf den prozessualen Charakter. Die erwarteten Materialkosten belaufen sich auf rund 19,5 Millionen Euro (2009).

The London artist collective The Center of Attention is planning to use the ruins of Sutton Scarsdale Hall in Derbyshire as a "Pavilion of postcontemporary curating".
In order to preserve the ruins, the existing structure is filled with synthetic, fiberglass-reinforced amber resin. The required rooms are then hollowed out of the full material according to the actual needs and requirements. The costly process and the slow progress of the archetypal space production puts the focus of the pavilion on the procedural character. The expected material costs amount to around 19.5 million euros (2009).
